Mar 20 (Reuters) - Bloomsbury Publishing (BLPU.L), UK-based publisher of Harry Potter novels, stated yesterday that its year-ahead trading would exceed expectations based on strong sales of fiction works and its extended academic publications.

It has also recently ventured into the field of scholarly books and online resources, with ambitions to roll out the latter to universities and academic institutions across the world.

Bloomsbury assumes consensus market forecast for the year to February 28 before Thursday's statement to be revenue of 333.4 million pounds ($432 million) and pre-tax profit of 39.6 million pounds. ($1 = 0.7715 pounds)
